Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information MemberSplit collects, how we use it, and who we share it with.

Information we collect

• Account information: your name and email address.
• Group information: the groups you create or join, their names, costs, and who's in them. If you invite someone by email, we store that email address to track the invite.
• Payment information: we do not store your card number or bank account details ourselves. When you add a payment method, it's sent directly to our payment processor, Stripe, and we only keep a reference ID Stripe gives us, along with a label like "Chase ····4242" for display.
• Usage information: basic technical information like IP address and browser type, collected automatically to keep the service secure and working.

How we use it

We use your information to operate the service: creating your account, running your groups, collecting and paying out monthly charges, and communicating with you about them. We also use it, together with signals from Stripe, to monitor for fraud and abuse. We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell it.

Who we share it with

• Stripe, our payment processor, to move money between members and organizers.
• Supabase, our database and infrastructure provider, which stores your account and group data on our behalf.
• Vercel, our hosting provider, which serves MemberSplit and processes technical request logs (including IP addresses) as part of doing that.
• Resend, our email delivery provider, which sends account and billing emails (like signup confirmations) on our behalf and processes the email address needed to deliver them.
• Anyone else only if required by law, to protect our rights, or with your consent.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after that to meet our legal and accounting obligations (for example, billing records).

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing info@membersplit.app. We'll need to keep some information (like billing history) as required by law even after a deletion request.

Children

MemberSplit isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. We'll post the updated version here and update the date at the top.
