Security

How your money is handled

MemberSplit never sees or stores your card number or bank account number. When you add a payment method, it goes directly to Stripe, our payment processor, which is certified at the highest level of PCI-DSS (the payment card industry's security standard). We only ever store a reference ID Stripe gives us.

How your data is protected

• All traffic to and from MemberSplit is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
• Your account and group data is encrypted at rest and protected with high-level access controls, enforced at the database level so a user can only ever read the rows they're actually allowed to see — not just our application code.

Fraud prevention

Every payment runs through Stripe's fraud detection before it's processed. MemberSplit is also invite-only by design — groups aren't publicly listed or searchable, which limits the kind of stranger-matching abuse that open marketplaces are more exposed to. We monitor for unusual patterns, like a sudden spike in disputes on one group, and can pause a group while we look into it.

Reporting a security issue

If you believe you've found a security vulnerability in MemberSplit, please email info@membersplit.app with details before disclosing it publicly. We'll acknowledge your report and work with you on it.
