Terms of Use

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using MemberSplit. By creating an account or using MemberSplit, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. What MemberSplit is

MemberSplit is a tool that helps a group of people split the cost of a subscription or other recurring bill they already share. The person who actually pays the underlying subscription (the "organizer") invites other people ("members") to a group. MemberSplit then collects each member's share of the cost every month and pays it to the organizer, through our payment processor, Stripe.

MemberSplit is not the subscription provider, is not a party to your subscription with any third-party service, and does not control what those providers allow. It's your responsibility to make sure sharing a subscription is allowed under that provider's own terms. We may suspend a group if we're notified it violates a third party's terms.

MemberSplit is invite-only: groups aren't listed publicly or searchable, and we don't match people to strangers. An organizer creates a group and shares its invite link or code directly with specific people they already know and already share, or have agreed to share, the underlying subscription with. By creating or joining a group, you confirm that arrangement already exists — MemberSplit is a payment-collection tool for it, not a marketplace for finding or selling access to someone else's account.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, able to form a binding contract, and located in the United States to use MemberSplit. Payments are processed in U.S. dollars only.

3. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away at info@membersplit.app if you think your account has been compromised.

4. How payments work

5. Fees

MemberSplit charges a flat $3.00/month platform fee per group. That fee is split evenly across every person in the group, including the organizer, regardless of each person's share of the underlying subscription cost. We may change this fee going forward; we'll give you notice before a change takes effect for a group you're already in.

6. Cancelling, leaving, and refunds

Leaving a group or cancelling isn't a self-serve action in the app yet — contact us at info@membersplit.app and we'll take care of it. We don't currently automate refunds for a charge that's already gone through; contact us and we'll look at it case by case. If a member's payment fails, we don't currently retry it or dispute it on your behalf — organizers should follow up directly with that member. See our Refund & Dispute Policy for the full process, including what happens if you dispute a charge with your bank.

7. What you can't do

You agree not to: use MemberSplit for anything illegal; advertise, sell, or offer group seats to the public or to people you don't already know, or otherwise use MemberSplit as a marketplace for shared-account access; try to get access to a group or account that isn't yours; interfere with or try to bypass our security or payment systems; or use the service to defraud anyone, including other members of your own group.

8. Disclaimers

MemberSplit is provided "as is." We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we're not responsible for how any third-party subscription provider treats your shared account. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, MemberSplit and ModCentral LLC won't be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you've paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product changes. We'll post the updated version here and update the date at the top; continuing to use MemberSplit after a change means you accept the update.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alaska, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
